Happy 4th Birthday Cade!

Since all my kids birthdays are in the Spring, it is no surprise that Cade landed in the Spring as well. He was born May 25, 2007. He is the baby, and I can't believe he is growing up so fast! We had a little family party for his 4th birthday here at the park!

He is obsessed with red, so you will notice that he got a lot of "red" things. Red balloons!

Here is a bunch of different shots of family. I did the party in Pleasant Grove, so more family were able to attend.

We just had pizza, with cupcakes and ice cream sandwiches for dessert. It was really fun!

More mingling.

Time for presents! A red ball from Aunt Celia's family.

A cool bike from mom & dad

Cool cars from Aunt Maria's family, and a fun bat and ball set along with a really nice baseball glove from Grandpa & Grandma Saul

A cool race car pig piggy bank from Grandma & Grandpa Robison

And the wind-up race car book that he's been begging me for forever!

A fun bubble lawn mower from Aunt Shawnee's family

He also got some much needed church clothes from his Great Grandma Wittick. I will have to take pictures of all him dressed up one of these days. I thought I had a picture of them, but I guess not.

Can you say spoiled?? Happy Birthday Bud! We love you!

Cade's 3rd Birthday!

Cade turned 3 on May 25th, and things were so crazy we waited to celebrate his birthday. We were finishing up school, and moving, so we thought we would wait until we were all the way in our house before we celebrated.

Not sure of the cake. He doesn't really like it anyway.

Happy Birthday Cade!

Opening presents.

A couple more.

His favorite!

Love the facial expression.

New jammies!

Showing off his new jammies, and scooter!
(Don't mind the long hair, dad hasn't had time to give him a haircut yet.)
We love you buddy! Happy Birthday!

Time for a big bed?

The last few days Cade has been taking his naps in his big brother Preston's bed. He loves it! We still have him in a crib, (no other child pushing him out of it at this point), plus it was just easier. He doesn't climb out, and he seems to be doing okay in it still.
He has however been waking up at all hours of the night since Eric has been gone. So lately I have wondered if it could be that he is ready for a new bed! He moves so much in bed that maybe he would be happier in a normal bed now.
I guess I should start looking for another set of bunkbeds since this house wouldn't allow anything else!

Nothing cuter than a sleeping baby (okay, toddler) but he is still my baby! :-)

Cade turned 2!! (Way behind!)

I am so far behind, but I just realized I never made a Birthday post on Cade a few months ago! My little Wesley Cade McConahay was born on May 25, 2007. He weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz. and was 21 inches long. Such a perfect little baby, and my easiest birth of all!
Here are a few of my favorite pictures over the last 2 years. I tried to keep it simple, so it was hard to choose, but these are cute!

Fresh out of the "oven". LOL

Big yawn!

My little genius!

About 1 yr. old!

Starting to walk!

Walking in daddy's boots!

Happy Birthday Buddy! We love you so much!

Just a little about Cade:
Cade has been a wonderful addition to our family. I can't imagine our lives without him. He is so sweet, loving, helpful, spunky, and smart all rolled into one. He still doesn't talk a lot, but it is amazing out much he knows! He loves playing ball (with any ball), he loves books, he loves trucks and tractors, and loves to lead & direct music. So funny!

If I Get Close Enough......

I think Cade misses Eric the most, simply because he doesn't understand what is going on, or why he just never came home from work one day.

I got Eric a webcam and sent it in the mail. He got it today, so when we talked on MSN we were able to use video. We could see and hear him, but he can't see us. (My webcam isn't here yet.)

Anyway, Cade loved it! He tried to climb right up into the computer. I think he thought the closer he got to him, maybe he could really touch him. Very cute and sad all at the same time.

We are hanging in there though! Only 15 more weeks. LOL

How Low Can You Go?

Sometimes our little ones do the craziest things, and we just can't help but smile!

The other day the kids & Eric informed me that this was Cade's new trick. I had never seen him attempt this, or even seen the other kids showing him. He is just a silly, goofy kid. He comes up with some crazies that's for sure! But we sure all love him!

Christmas Countdown-Day 21

More playing in the Snow!!!

All the other kids have snow stuff, but Cade didn't. I ended up getting him some snow bibs so he could really enjoy the snow with the others. There is a ton of it, and it has been still snowing all day.

I need to get pictures of the other kids. I don't think about it when they get home from school. I guess they played in it at school, and are tired of it for a while!

Christmas Countdown-Day 17

YEAH SNOW!!!

Cade has been dying to go outside. Well, this morning I bundled him all up so he could check out the snow! This is his first real winter to "play" in it, so he was so excited. He didn't want gloves on, and he wouldn't really go out in it, but maybe next time. He just loves being outside!!

All Better!

Amazingly enough, Cade is all better!

He kind of had a shaky night that first night. Woke up a few times, tossing and turning. I ended up giving him more meds at 3:00 a.m. I rocked him for a bit, and he went almost right back to sleep. He woke up yesterday morning for the day around 9:00 a.m. He seemed fine and happy, not necessarily in pain, so I held off giving him more meds. Although he was happy for the most part he was walking around like his right hand was paralyzed. He wouldn't move it AT ALL. Not even lift it. It just hung there. After about an hour, he started getting fussy. I decided to hit him with another dose of meds before it got too bad.

Once the meds kicked in, he seemed so much better. He was still favoring that arm, but wasn't fussy, and was a little more content. We read books, watched movies, and just kind of sat around. Then we had lunch. After lunch I had to take Alyssa to Kindergarten. When we got back, he went down for a nap. It was about 12:30 p.m. After about 3 hours I start peeking in on him. Still zonked. At about 4:00 p.m. I peek in at him, and sure enough he is sitting up in bed. Now that in its self was different than before, because he couldn't even push on his arms to get into a sitting position, he would just cry.

I went in to get him, and he started laughing. Being just his goofy silly self. Imediately trying to hide from me, and play in his blanket. I was amazed. I got him out of bed finally, and put him down and he ran out of the room. He found his siblings and wanted to play. He found some balls and was throwing them with "that arm". He brought me his tippy cup with "that arm" because it was empty. I was once again amazed.

I had started dinner, so I was working on that, and he came and stood next to me. When I went to hand him back his tippy cup, he reached up to take it with "that arm", and noticed his arm wrapped. He then proceeded to rip the bandage off. Unraveling it, and pulling at it until it was off. And then he started rubbing his arm all over his leg and waist backwards, frontwards, and in all directions. It was really itchy I guess. It was so funny.

I guess the doctor did mention to Eric that his elbow just could have popped out, and once it pops back in he will be fine. So that must have been what happened. So I am very happy and thankful that he is back to normal. I am still cautious when I touch him, but he doesn't seem the least bit bothered.

YEAH!

Poor Little Guy!

Well, unfortunating my baby had a visit to the emergency room tonight.

About 4:30 the kids were playing/doing homework, and I was working on the computer. Alyssa and Cade were playing right behind me, when all of a sudden Cade just started crying. She tends to be a little wild with him a lot, and I am CONSTANTLY getting after her. This time however, he just kept fussing.

I comforted him for a while, got him his binky (which he does not get unless he is going to bed), but he still wouldn't seem to calm down. I went in on the couch with him, and got him all comfy. I thought maybe he was just tired and kept waiting for him to fall asleep. He sat there watching Little Mermaid with all of us, and occasionally would point at the screen. I thought again, yes, he must just be tired.

A little after 5:00 Eric walks in, and usually Cade can't wait to get to his dad when he comes home. He came and stood by the couch offering to take him, and Cade just sat there. I told Eric what had happened, so Eric ending up taking him and tried to comfort him too. After that much time had passed, and he was still acting funny, I knew something wasn't right.

In the meantime I had asked Alyssa exactly what had happened and she said his arm got stuck behind his back and he was trying to roll over. I'm not sure if she rolled or laid on him, or tried to help him roll over the wrong way or if he did it to himself. Eric checked his one arm and rolled it around lifting it up and down, and nothing. He proceeded to do the same thing to the other arm, and Cade started screaming. Something was definately wrong with it.

We quickly decided to just take him to the emergency room. If he was that sensitive, he would probably need x-rays. They were gone a little over 2 hours. The doctor considered it a really bad elbow sprain, and put this thick bandage on it so he wouldn't bend it. They also gave him Tylenol w/codeine. The doctor said the x-rays didn't show anything to him that was worse than a sprain, but they would have the radiologist call me in the morning if he saw anything different.

What a goof!

Cade has been the funniest little kid! All kids seem to have little things they do that make us smile, but with Cade it is never ending! He really loves to make you laugh, and he has a devious little giggle when you do so. You will find him doing the craziest things, and then he'll look at you just waiting for your reaction!

He is such a character, and we love him tons!!! He has been so much fun, and this is really a great age!

Since waiting 4 years between he and Alyssa I sort of forgot all this stuff. I wish I had been blogging back then so I'd have better records. My scrapbooking has really declined, and I have really wanted to get into it, but am lacking motivation....so I blog.

Enjoy these fun pics of my baby!!! Isn't he a doll?
