Preston's 12th Birthday!

I feel like such a crappy mom because for some reason I
have NO pictures of Preston's birthday. :(

We did have a small party for him. Our family, Grandma & Grandpa Robison, his Aunt Celia, Uncle Jeff, and Cousin Whitney went to Pirate Island! Other than having to wait FOREVER for the food, we had a good time. They have Karaoke, which was entertaining to say the least. :)

Preston turned 12 this year, got the Priesthood, and started passing the sacrament. He was so excited, and loves every bit of it! He has thoroughly enjoyed young mens, and scout camp that he got to go on this year.

For his birthday he got money from Grandpa & Grandma Saul, money from Grandma Wittick, some new ties from Grandma & Grandpa Robison, from all of us he got a really nice sleeping bag, a Star Wars Wii Game, the Fablehaven 5 book, and a new tie tac.

We love you Preston, and are so proud of you!

P.S. Just last month he was made the new Deacon's secretary in our ward.

Webelos Badge & Arrow of Light

For the last few months we have been working with Preston on finishing up his Webelos Badge, and getting his Arrow of Light for the scouting program. I was trying to learn everything I needed to know (since I know NOTHING) about scouts, so I could help him. His desire was strong enough, and I made it a top priority. He loves Scouts.
This award is only available in Cub Scouting, and since he was turning 11 at the end of March we really needed to get busy and finish things up.
With the help of some awesome friends, and great scout leaders, I am happy to say we finally made it. Here is pack night with some eager boys, anxious to receive the award as well!! (I am posting this backwards, because technically he was supposed to get his Webelos Badge first, but they did the Arrow of Light ceremony first. It was all in the same night though.)

Painting his face, and learning the symbols of the "W" and hearing what each color represents and how it pertains to being a Webelos Scout. Grandpa observing in the background. :)

Receiving his additional badges, pins, and belt loops from the Cubmaster.

Posing with dad! Look at that smile!

Now posing with mom. I think he likes dad better, what do you think?

Here is his friend Collin at the of the Arrow of Light Presentation, doing the Flag Ceremony.

The special guest.

Talking about the meaning of the Arrow, and being "straight" by choosing good paths!

Getting ready to cross the bridge. We didn't get a good shot of him actually walking across the bridge. They all went so fast, that we didn't stand a chance.

Receiving the kerchief for the 11yr. old scouting program (the next level) from one of their leaders, Brother Wilson.

Preston checking out the cool award they presented for receiving the Arrow of Light!

Here he is with mom. I even got a pin! I still think he likes dad better. Ha Ha He loves this kind of stuff though, it is right up his alley. They even had his name engraved on the little plaque. CONGRATULATIONS PRESTON!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

A Few More Presents....and Cake & Ice Cream!

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Preston,
Happy Birthday to you!

Blow, Preston, Blow!

Opening his card!

Cade helping just like little brother's should. :-)

A book he really wanted.

As you can see on the table a Wii Sonic Hedgehog game!

And last but not least...the movie Bolt! And thank you to Grandmas and Grandpas, Aunts and Uncles for all the additions to his piggy bank. He loves to save money, so that is always a plus!
We also promised him a trip to Nickelcade, but that will have to wait until another day. Today we just tried to cram too much in, but I think he had a lot of fun!

We love you Preston! We are so proud of you, and happy to have you in our family!

Build-A-Bear with Preston!

A couple weeks ago when we took Alyssa to Build-A-Bear for her birthday, the other kids said they wanted to do it too. So, when we started talking about the different things we were going to do for his birthday, he made sure not to let us forget that.

He wanted the turtle. He didn't even look around again, he just marched straight for it, he had already made up his mind.

Here he is getting stuffed.

Sewn up!

Grabbing the camoflauge clothes he had already decided on.

And getting the Birth Certificate.

Meet MEAN GREEN! That trip was MUCH faster than the previous time. Ha Ha

Happy Birthday Bud!

Happy Birthday Preston!!!!

He's 10!

Snow Caves!

Last Friday night Eric took his 11 yr. old scouts on a smaller version of the Klondike! They dug snow caves and slept in them over night. Preston isn't quite old enough officially, but Eric let him go. They had a really fun time, and I know Preston loved spending time with his dad!

Setting up camp

Digging the caves

Preston & Eric outside their cave.

The next morning. Preston slept great!

Breakfast!
Goofing off before it was time to go home.
The next morning the boys climbed on top to see if they could cave in their caves. I don't think it worked.
Preston and Eric again! Two of my special boys! I'm glad you guys had a great time!

Flashback Friday!

I jumped on the blogging bandwagon a little later than most, so I have so much "old stuff" I'd love to journal and write about. There is no way I will ever catch up, but I found this cute idea on another blog I stumbled across. I decided to use it also, so hopefully it's not copyrighted! :-)

This post is called Flashback Friday! Every Friday I will randomly pick an old photo or group of photos and post about it! If anything it will keep me posting at least once a week. :-)

The December Countdown was fun and all, but I'm just not that exciting of a writer to post every day! Anyway, enjoy my memories!

Here are some great shots from January of 2005. Grandma Saul was visiting and braved the snow with the kids! Building a totally cool snowman!

Building a snowfort and having a snowball fight!!!

And last but not least, making snow angels!!! Thanks for the good times grandma! We love you!
